AFTER THE STORM
This is a tale of escape and hope. People can find themselves in all manner of situations that are not good for them. Sometimes, rather than accept life as it currently is, things must change. Finding the courage to leave and head off into an uncertain but hopefully brighter future is a hard thing to do. This song was based on a guitar part written by Oliver Day.
As soon as Libby heard it, she said the beat reminded her of the rhythm of windscreen wipers and she pictured a woman driving on a lonely highway in a wide, open American landscape. There is no going back. Eventually the storms both outside and inside pass and the road ahead is calmer and clearer.
lyrics
Dark lonely road ahead I see
Escape the world and part of me
Living with ghosts just killing time
Leaving that life so far behind
Bridges burned
Dealing with consequence
Looking for confidence
Searching for better ways
Hoping for brighter days
Bridges burned
Lessons learned
Desolate clouds surround me now
Look for the light move on somehow
The rain has stopped and so must I
After the storm a clearer sky
After the storm this freedom earned
Lessons are learned and bridges burned
Bridges burned

Absolutely hooked on this album from first listen. How rare is that with prog!??? Excellent songwriting and musicianship. Can’t wait to dive into the rest of the collection. Thomas Lock
